Here’s how you can integrate OpenX and WordPress.
System requirements
The OpenX plugin for WordPress supports OpenX 2.4 or later, and also the hosted version of OpenX.
Download and install OpenX CMS integration plugin
Download the latest versions on the OpenX CMS integration homepage here
Note: OpenX need to be installed before you install the WP OpenX integration plugin.
To install and configure the plugin:
1) Drop the attached file in the /wp-content/plugins folder of your WordPress installation.
2) Enable the plugin in the WordPress administration console.
3) Setup the OpenX server in the OpenX-WP setup page.
4) You can now add OpenX banners within your posts using the macro “{openx:NN}” where NN is the OpenX zone ID that you want to display.
This plugin also provides a widget which can be added to the WordPress sidebar.
Note: More detailed instructions can be found in the attached README.txt file.
Test it
You can check your plugin is working correctly by serving ads some test ads from our server. Set the delivery URL to “ads.openx.org/delivery” and zone ID 9 for testing.
Note: Use ads.openx.org for testing only. You will not be able to control (or be paid for!) these ads.
OpenX delivery URL
What delivery URL should you use if you’re using one of the OpenX CMS integration plugins, or the OpenX Video Ads plugin?
– If you are using Shared Hosted and the OpenX Video Ads plugin (http://www.openx.com/docs/2.8/userguide/banners+video+ads) , the delivery URL you need to specify in the video player plugin is “http://d1.openx.org/fc.php“.
– If you are running OpenX 2.8: login, switch to Administrator and look in: Configuration > Global Settings > Banner Delivery Settings > Delivery Engine URL.
– If you are running OpenX 2.6: login, switch to Administrator and look in: My Account > Global Settings > Banner Delivery Settings -> Delivery Engine URL.
– If you are running OpenX 2.4: login as admin and check in: Settings > Main Settings > Delivery Settings > Delivery Engine URL.
– If you are using the hosted version of OpenX, use “d1.openx.org“.
